The Ducks and University of Oregon Athletics have landed firmly on the national media stage, and they never left the local one, which makes Craig Pintens’ job as the new senior associate athletic director for marketing and public relations an especially critical one. PRSA is delighted to welcome Pintens as our guest speaker at our meeting Feb. 2. In addition to talking about social media best practices, rumor control and crisis communications, Pintens will address how the UO manages its national brand while responding to the daily onslaught of media requests, faculty concerns and a host of other issues. We might even get a glimpse behind the scenes of the Ducks’ Rose Bowl championship! Pintens comes to the UO from Louisiana State University, where he held a similar position, and has a deep resume of sports marketing experience. He has a B.A. in marketing from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and earned his law degree from Marquette University.
As the Greater Oregon Chapter of PRSA gears up for a new year, a familiar face will take the helm as board president. We welcome back Jenny Ulum, Director of Public Affairs & Advocacy for Sacred Heart Medical Center, who is one of the original founders of our chapter.
